Album

Nite Flights is the sixth and last studio album by the American pop group The Walker Brothers, released in July 1978. Each member of the group wrote songs for the album: two by Gary Walker with Scott Walker and John Walker each contributing four. The Electrician was released as a single from the album. The four Scott-penned tracks were released on that year's Shutout EP. The album was recorded in February 1978 in the UK at Scorpio Sound, London, England. It is a cover tune, that is the specialty of Fruits de Mer Records after all, in this case the title track from the final album by The Walker Brothers. The original is not known by me, but this cover version sounds like one that expands on the original ever so slightly. The slightly cold, firm female lead vocals for starters, but also the rock solid groove that push this track onward like a steam engine at full power. Nite Flights - The Walker Brothers.
