MP3s in 320kbps format for all three discs were provided via a download link on 2012-05-21 for those that pre-ordered this set.

Tracklist errors: on the front, track 5 is listed as 'Answer Song' and track 6 as 'Tonight', which is the wrong way around; also on front, track 4 is given as 'The Last Days Of Disco', but on the reverse it's given as 'Last Days Of Disco'.

Words and Music by Saint Etienne is the eighth studio album by English alternative dance band Saint Etienne, released on 18 May 2012 by Heavenly Recordings. The band announced the album in a Christmas message on their official website on 11 December 2011. The album features collaborations from longtime Saint Etienne associate Ian Catt, as well as Richard X and former Xenomania members Tim Powell and Nick Coler. The title of the album was provided by Lawrence of the bands Felt, Denim and Go-Kart Mozart. Saint Etienne's eighth record, Words and Music by Saint Etienne, is centered on a theme that has been part of their music since the group began. They've always been one of the most nostalgic groups around, draping themselves in the visuals, styles, and sounds of the past while still staying modern. They've rarely seemed to be touched by the past on a personal level, but now perhaps age and experience have given them a reason to look back at their own lives and do a bit of summing up.
