If you want a cd that sounds as if it were recorded by gravel voiced singers, thrashing acoustic guitars in a drunken Friday night pub, then this one probably won't please you. But if you play a musical instrument, or sing in a band or choir, I'm sure you'll appreciate the sheer excellence of this album. Robert Hollingworth의 Shakespeare the Sonnets에 대한 모든 앨범 가사. The Bard is modern and alive than ever in Robert Wilson's Shakespeare's Sonnets, a contemporary take on 25 specially chosen sonnets from Shakespeare's cannon. Set to a sweeping score composed by Rufus Wainwright, a genre-bending mix of medieval German Minnesang, classical, pop, and cabaret rock is performed by the actors of the Berliner Ensemble. The production was staged in 2009 for the fourth centennial of the publishing of the Sonnets. For this production, Wilson embraces the prevalence of subversive gender conventions embedded in Shakespeare's 154 sonnets which move fluidly between male and female objects of desire. Shakespeare refers to the horse in this poem as if it were his own. But in any case he is not much concerned to speed on his journey, since it only seems to lead him onward into sorrow. It would be interesting to know what the journey was to which the poet alludes. Was it a trip back to his native Stratford, which tradition tells us he made on numerous occasions, choosing the Oxford route rather than the one through Ayelsbury and Banbury. Both sonnets are given at the bottom of this page. The 1609 Quarto Version. HOw heauie doe I iourney on the way, When what I ſeeke my wearie trauels end Doth teach that eaſe and that repoſe to ſay Thus farre the miles are meaſurde from thy friend
