I listed to Hariprasad Chaurasia for the first time more than 20 years back on my walkman and the music stilled my mind almost magically. Very relaxing. However you do need stereo headphones to enjoy them best - or at least stereo speakers. Else if you use the built in speakers in iPod or laptop, the music will sound metallic and you miss the true beauty. Also, the sound at times is too soft and it doesn't play well in car stereo - but then with all the traffic noise around, perhaps I am asking for the moon.
