They formed in the late 80s and released two demos and an EP in the early 90s. A collaboration between Cédric Stevens & Laurent Jadot. They released a full length album, Ashes, under Re-load Ambient label. They also worked together under aliases Encephaloid Disturbance and Anxious. Poppin' is an album by jazz saxophonist Hank Mobley first released on Blue Note Japan in 1980 as GXF 3066 the BN catalogue number is 1620. Phlegm was a trio of destructive talents from Sydney Oren Ambarchi, Robbie Avenaim and Nik Kamvissis, now better known for their solo and collaborative recordings, newer acts like Sun, Menstruation Sisters, and Rizili, and the What Is Music festival that they have made their own. If they had compromised towards actual careerism during the band's shortish lifespan they may have enjoyed commercial success but instead they created a legend for themselves in obnoxiousness that haunts their reputations to this day. The word Phlegm is sometimes mentioned quietly these days, nostalgicall. Poppin' was one of many sessions tenor saxophonist Hank Mobley recorded in the late '50s and early '60s but remained unreleased until the late '70s and '80s. It's hard to say why this session - which was recorded in 1957 - sat on the shelves, since it as good as the other records he cut at the time.
