Mavericks is a collaborative album by the two original singersongwriters of jangle pop band the dB's, Peter Holsapple and Chris Stamey. It was originally released in 1991 on Rhino Records and was re-released on January 15, 2008 by Collectors' Choice Music. The reissue featured six previously unreleased tracks. Mavericks finds both Holsapple and Stamey sounding a bit older, quieter, and more pensive than they did in the old days while one can see many flashes of the bright, angular power pop that dominated the dB's first two albums, most of the songs are dominated by acoustic instruments, somewhat slower tempos, and a more mature tone.
