Album

Brighten the Corners is the fourth studio album by American indie rock band Pavement, released in 1997. All songs were written by lead singer Stephen Malkmus, apart from Scott Kannberg's Date with Ikea and Passat Dream. After their last release, Wowee Zowee, Pavements drummer, Bob Nastanovich, said of this album, We were going to go into peoples rooms and brighten their corners with music. All tracks are written by Stephen Malkmus, except where noted. Stephen Malkmus vocals, guitar. Brighten the Corners is the fourth studio album released by Pavement. There's a difference between accessibility and focus, which Pavement illustrate with their fourth album, Brighten the Corners. Arriving on the heels of the glorious mess of Wowee Zowee, the cohesive sound and laid-back sarcasm of Brighten the Corners can give the record the illusion of being accessible, or at the very least a retreat toward the songcraft of Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain. And the record is calm, with none of the full-out blasts of noise that marked all of their previous releases. Album 1997 12 Songs. Brighten the Corners. Alternative 1997. The Corners is the fourth album by Pavement, released in 1997. All songs were written by Stephen Malkmus, apart from Scott Kannbergs Date with Ikea and Passat Dream. The title is likely a reference to Ella Fitzgeralds 1967 album Brighten The Corner, or to the 1957 Thelonious Monk album Brilliant Corners. It is also the only Pavement album to feature a full lyric sheet. Brighten the Corners Q&A. Pavement - Brighten The Corners 1997. To favorites 0 Download album. Listen album. Indie Rock. Pavement understood this shift all to well, which could be why Brighten the Corners sounds like their most self-aware and, by extension, honest album- when Stephen Malkmus yells, listen to me, I'm on the stereo on the album's excitable opening track, it's with the implicit knowledge that he'd.
