It was released on December 15th 1975 by Casablanca Records and produced by the bands leader and of the P-Funk collective entirely George Clinton. Its themes regard their own unique P-Funk mythology of outer-space concepts. Some examples are found in the cover art, which shows Clinton jumping out of a spaceship, the ending track, which talks about a group of individuals known as The Thumpasorous Peoples , and more. Mothership Connection is a full-on assault by a group at their creative zenith. Widely regarded as the crown jewel in Parliaments discography, it was the first in a long line of concept albums to explore the P-Funk universe. Combining science-fiction and Afrofuturism, Parliament created their own mythology, introducing a roster of fictitious characters and themes that would remain central to George Clintons work for years to come.
