Visual shows the 10th kilometer of the World's Half Marathon that took place in Denmark's capital. An interesting spectacle for a man on a Saturday. The Sonic were a Finnish electronic music group founded in Turku in 1993. The group consisted of Mika Vainio, Ilpo Väisänen, and Sami Salo. Salo left in 1996 leaving Pan Sonic a duo. The group was originally named Panasonic until 1998. In December 2009, it was announced that Pan Sonic would disband after their concerts that month. Their final album, Gravitoni, was released by Blast First Petite in May 2010. Oksastus, a live album recorded in 2009, was released in 2014. Completa tu colección de Pan Sonic - Oksastus 2014. Mika Vainio and Ilpo Väisänen have been operating under that name for almost two decades now. Over that time they've fostered an instantly identifiable sound that melds techno with the muscle of metal and industrial music, including lots of experimentation with extreme frequencies. They've been quiet since 2010, though both members have active solo careers, and Oksastus is set to be the first Pan Sonic release in quite some time. It doesn't exactly mark a reunion, however-instead, it's a live recording of t. Oksastus is an album by Pan Sonic released in 2014. Pan Sonic, the Finnish noise duo who split in 2010, recorded this meticulous live effort in 2009 in Kyiv in the Ukraine. It's impossible to frame it without thinking about the impending meltdown of both band and country, cloaking Oksastus in an apocalyptic backdrop. Pan Sonic music never really feels like a graft, but it does take work to get inside it, to dig through the overlapping walls of noise to get to its cold heart. There's no sense of journey involved instead it can be like peering into a cement mixer and watching new shapes appear and vanish inside its churn

Rumors surrounding whatever inspired the creative process of "Oksastus" are many, including one which hinted at this being an audio record of a "band" falling apart. Recorded in 2009 prior to the project's curtain call "Gravitoni", this live recording showcases Mika and Ilpo as capable and intense as any "studio" album, since most of these are recorded live as well. Therefore you can look at it as a live performance or a studio album recorded live, whichever allows you to permit your consciousness coming to grips with the ever-evolving but pattern fixed noisy electronic sounds convulsing and churning within the individual tracks of this 61 minute release.Thematically or aesthetically speaking, "Oksastus" is very much similar in tone and sound as "Gravitoni", the repetitive rhythmic mechanical machinations augmented by crashes, waves, sines, and other more or less distorted synthetically generated noises. If anything, "Oksastus" is a dense voyage, perhaps more so than any of their official releases, should one consider the technical perfection of their usual so-called studio offerings a less dense offering than this gem. Each track is named simply by its length (example, track one is 7'05", track two is 5'31" and so on) although track 11'03" is a variation on the rhythmic pattern of "Gravitoni" 's "Wanyugo" if anyone is paying attention! Navigating between their hypnotic minimal beat-oriented formulae as well as exploring more ambiant-like textures of finding the point between silence and ultimate noise with every variable extreme in the middle (think disc 3 of "Kesto" with more intensity) "Oksastus" can only be described as a vibrant and intense example of the continual audio mastery of Panasonic (I still call them by their original name pre-lawsuit) who've proven time and again (especially with their "Katodivaihe/Cathodephrase" album) they operate as human interference bringing a form of conscious control over the chaos which is the nature of electronic sound. On a personal note, this is not my favorite of their official full-length releases but by far not one of their weakest either. I strongly recommend any fan to get a copy of this release before it sells out!

http://secretthirteen.org/pan-sonic-oksastus-kvitnu/Four years have passed since Pan Sonic issued their last work, “Gravitoni”. That was in 2010, the year when they split up. Since then, much has been discussed about a new issue and many have been stoically awaiting new stuff. Now this duo’s fans should be pleased that rumours have become true. Ukrainian label Kvitnu has the honour of releasing these two musicians’ new album on February 20. “Oksastus”, which is the Finnish word for the process of grafting and cultivating plants, provides potential listeners with an unmistakably Pan Sonic live performance recorded in Kyiv on June 6, 2009, before an audience of no more than two hundred amazed – and lucky – people. It consists of eight tracks perfectly mastered by C-drík Fermont, which allow listeners to re-taste the greatness of these masters’ gigs and their unique electronic craft, and offer a perfect picture of their best technique and stand-alone on-stage approach.Mika Vainio and Ilpo Väisänen have their own chapter in electronic music history for many reasons: their one-of-a-kind style, which is midway between minimal techno and noise, the brutality of their shows, their use of drilling high-pitched sounds and, of course, their excellence in transforming electric current into abrasive soundscapes. All these characteristics have definitely a place in this superb live album. Indeed, these eight pieces should transport listeners from noisy anti-riot sound systems and fat techno kicks and hi-hats to industrial rhythms and layers. The outcome is as overwhelming as anyone would expect. Track structures force listeners to pay attention to every single effect, making you get lost in the mixture of darkness and violence that these figures of avant-garde electronic music undoubtedly suggest. On top of that, their use of analogue machines strengthens this album’s sound by making it more instinctive and natural, adding a genuine and tangible dimension to their performance.Elliptical, hypnotic, raw… there are many adjectives that can be used to define this live set, but words are never enough to describe this Finnish duo’s savoir faire. No doubt the sound quality is something to be highlighted – greatly due to Kvitnu’s outstanding production effort – alongside their immersive myriad of distorted high-rate layers and percussions. In short, “Oksastus” is a MUST for every Pan Sonic fan and a strictly limited edition to be carefully kept alongside prized possessions of music lovers. The album art has been designed by Ukrainian artist Zavoloka. Also, it will be issued in CD and white double vinyl format, both packed in a luxurious cardboard cover, printed with metallized paint and additional hot foil pressing and UV-lacquering. A real treasure: end of story.
