Album

Heartland is the third full-length album by Canadian indie rock artist Owen Pallett, released January 12, 2010 on Domino Records. It's the first of Pallett's records to be released under his own name. Since the album was his first to be released in Japan, he wished to avoid generating confusion with the Final Fantasy video games from Square Enix, and to avoid infringing on any trademarks. Pallett stated that his previous albums will be repackaged and reissued under his own name at some point. Heartland - Owen Pallett. Toronto-based singersongwritercomposerviolinist Owen Palletts Final Fantasy project officially ended its public affair with the beloved Japanese video game of the same name he has promised to release subsequent albums under his legal name with Heartland, a 12-song conceptual piece concerning a young, ultra-violent farmer named Lewis set in the imaginary landscape of Spectrum. Album 2010 12 Songs. Electronic is an Album by Owen Pallett released in 2010. It was the first music he released with his own name, dropping the Final Fantasy monicker. The concept album follows a farmer named Lewis in a land called Spectrum where Owen is God. Lewis starts off as Owens servant, but soon becomes suspicious of his greatness. Lewis starts a rebellion and kills Owen. The EP Spectrum 14th Century AD is the prologue to this story, as well as the single Lewis' Dream written for a Flora advert. The album island will be a sequel to Heartland. Heartland Q&A. After several releases as Final Fantasy, Owen Pallett makes his debut under his own name, and it's his grandest and most assured statement to date. And there are a lot of things about Heartland that feel like Pallett is presenting himself more and more fully as an artist the scope of breadth and mood of it are all grander, more assured, making ever more of a case that the guy shouldn't be viewed as a side note string arranger for the Arcade Fire, the Pet Shop Boys. or a minor interest D&D enthusiast, guy who titled an album He Poos Clouds. After all, one of this album's closest cousins in the indie world is a notable, well-regarded one: Joanna Newsom's Ys. Genre: Chamber Pop. Stepping out under his own name feels like an acknowledgement of this, as if Pallett's ready to cast aside the modesty of having a project- it's just this thing I've been working on- and present himself, fully upright, as an artist
