Although Nick Lucas had begun his recording career in the 1920s and had cut a host of million-selling discs, by the late 1960s he was living comfortably in semi-retirement, making a few scattered singles for Accent and appearing in person only occasionally. This changed when in 1968 Tiny Tim released his own version of Lucas's perennial Tip-Toe thru the Tulips on Reprise, and it became a surprise hit, reviving the old crooner's career.
