Mixing timpani drums and a fleet B-17 bombers in flight the first track though not indicative of the style points the listener of Beauty Reaps the Blood of Solitude to the conclusion that this will be a different and powerful album. Michael Cashmore's brilliant compositions in league with best talents of the New European and Apocalyptic Folk genres create a magnificent album that I count as the crowning achievement of both of these movements. The sound is similar to the works Death in June and Current 93 but the album certainly is more than a sum of the parts. Cashmore has also been a member of the group Current 93 since the late 1980s. He has collaborated with many artists, including David Tibet, Douglas Pearce, Steven Stapleton, Antony Hegarty, Marc Almond and Rose McDowall.
