Les Mots is the first compilation by French singer Mylène Farmer, released on 26 November 2001. It contains most of the singer's hits and three new songs. It was certified Diamond in France. In 2001, rumours were launched that Farmer was doing her first compilation. However, while some people thought that it would be a remixes compilation as Dance Remixes, for others it would be an acoustic compilation and for others, it would be a best of containing all Farmer's hits. It isn't an album but a compilation.

Mop66 It is referred to as an album on her website, that's why it is an album and a compilation. Both terms are not mutually exclusive on Discogs and can/should be used in combination, if the underlying source shows it is referred to as both. She doesn't have a website. Never had one. No social media either. Only short-lived temporary promo mini-sites

You are not getting the point. Nobody says it would not be a compilation! But it is an album as well nevertheless! These terms are NOT mutually exclusive. There are a lot of releases where both apply! Do NOT remove them when a souce is provided that both apply.

A compilation is a choice of songs taken from different albums, recorded through several years and assembled for the purpose showing the best songs from that artist, often with some new tracks specifically recorded for the compilation.. That is what "Les mots" is : taken from 5 or 6 differents albums, all recorded through different years (from 1985 to 1999 here) with 3 new songs.
