Mozart wrote and performed 11 piano concertos for subscription concerts in Vienna during the years 1784-86. Although he did not invent the piano concerto, he set the standards for Beethoven's concertos and those that followed in the 19th Century. This CD contains the two concertos that are in minor keys: No. 20 in D minor K466 and No. 24 in C minor K491. They are among Mozart's best compositions, in fact some including me consider No. 24 to be the best of the concertos and one of the greatest musical works ever written.
