Mike Clifford, born November 5, 1943, is an American singer, songwriter and actor. He is best known for his 1962 pop hit, Close To Cathy, which reached number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. Mike Clifford was born in Los Angeles, California. His father, Cal Clifford, was a professional trumpeter, who took him to many of his engagements.
