It peaked at number 12 on the Billboard 200, and has been certified a gold record by the RIAA, spending 37 weeks on the charts. The classic 1968 Columbia jam album in it's entirety. One of my all-time favorite LP's. Mike Bloomfield just tearing it up on that '59 'burst Gibson Les. Формируйте собственную коллекция коллекцию записей Mike Bloomfield, Al Kooper, Steve Stills. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band 1967 had done a year earlier, Super Session 1968 initially ushered in several new phases in rock & roll's concurrent transformation. In the space of months, the soundscape of rock shifted radically from short, danceable pop songs to comparatively longer works with more attention to technical and musical subtleties. Super Session is an album conceived by Al Kooper and featuring the work of guitarists Mike Bloomfield and Stephen Stills, released on Columbia Records in 1968, CS 9701. It peaked at 12 on the Billboard 200. Kooper and Bloomfield had previously worked together on the sessions for the ground-breaking classic Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan, as well as playing in support of his controversial appearance at the Newport Folk Festival in July 1965. Listen free to Mike Bloomfield, Al Kooper, Steve Stills Super Session. The album Super Session grew out of a single nine hour jam in 1968 by guitarist Mike Bloomfield and multi-instrumentalist Al Kooper and Stephen Stills of CSNY fame. Kooper and Bloomfield had both previously worked in support of Bob Dylan, in concert and appearing on his ground-breaking classic, Highway 61 Revisited. Kooper, fresh from having assembled and recorded the inaugural incarnation of Blood, Sweat & Tears, booked two days of studio time with Bloomfield in May 1968 in Los Angeles. In May 1968, both Al Kooper and Michael Bloomfield found themselves in strange positions. Kooper - who had played the distinctive organ hook on Bob Dylan s Like a Rolling Stone before joining the Blues Project and then forming Blood, Sweat & Tears - had left BS&T and was serving as an A&R man for Columbia Records. Bloomfield - who had played with Kooper on several Dylan sessions and had come to prominence as a member of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band - had just left his band the Electric Flag. It was a good time to reconnect. And with that, the seeds for what became the Super Session album were sown. Al Kooper , Mike Bloomfield and others. Songs in album Super Session 1968. Bloomfield was, of course, a seminal influence in rock guitar, especially in the resusitation of the blues in popular American music. Having finished with Blood, Sweat & Tears and their debut album Child Is Father To The Man in 1968 AL KOOPER found himself the in-house Producer at Columbia Records in need of a project. So he calls up ex Electric Flag and Paul Butterfield Blues band ace guitarist MIKE BLOOMFIELD and together they determine to make a 'quickie' a Blues and Soul jam album they'll pump out in one manic session
