i bought this lp back in 1984 i still have it and love it as much now as i did then, this is without a doubt one of the best hardcore punk records ever made from that time and i also enjoyed most everything else mdc has done, anyway i belive this is the first pressing of this lp, i always went to see these guys live back 30 years ago and they even put on some of the best shows in those days, my only warning to ANY hardcore punk fan that is somehow not familer with this lp is check out there political stances first as if you are to the right in anyway this may piss you off as mdc have always been an anarcho punk band, STILL about 7 or 8 years back i found out they where playing so for old times sake i went to the gig, i sadly did not run into ANY of the old mdc fans from the early to late 80s, it was all kids under 23 (im guessing) they where dressed the same as they where back in the 80s but all young new new faces, im not sure where the kids are at today but i found it ironic that 85% of them where talking on cell phones, texting and giving out there e mail adresses oh and yes holding up the annoying phones getting live shots of the band and watching the show through there phones so much for anti establishment........ im a few years shy of 50 as i write this and I STILL DONT HAVE A CELL PHONE OR ANY OF THAT CRAP, i just have this laptop here AT HOME where it belongs........

I agree emphatically with BillSwingo. This is one of the best albums of this genre to be put to vinyl. Beginning-to-end an absolute classic. It seems to have been re-pressed (2010?) and AFAICT, thoughtfully /not/ remastered (~180G with insert, etc) - preserving all of the original dynamics. After revisiting this slab multiple times I am hard pressed to find anything to top it (DK's FFFRV, CJ's Group Sex, Nihilistics, Bad Brains ...). I can't say more about this other than to command you to go out and get a copy of this on vinyl and CRANK IT UP!

The best thing the band ever did and a flawless hardcore masterpiece. Before this album, they were merely good. This album is the pinacle of hardcore in every respect. After this album, they got pretty mushy. Oh, sure, there's a good song or two on each of the later albums, but here is where MDC nailed it. A perfect moment captured on vinyl.

I totally agree. This was both one of the most aggressive, and musically accomplished HC records, second only to Bad Brains debut Imo. It's also one of.the only hardcore records that I still listen to regularly.
