Please retry. i've loved Marti Jones for thirty years. this, her third solo album, is maybe the most perfectly realized one of the lot. i courted my poor, longsuffering wife to this album. Marti will someday have to answer for helping me to trick Lisa into marrying me. i would submit that no artist has ever used a bag of bottle caps as a percussion instrument quite as well as Ms. Jones did on If I Could Love Somebody, a plaintive John Hiatt number which Marti sings the living hell out of. In 2008, Jones and Dixon released the download-only album Lucky Stars: New Lullabies for Old Souls A departure from Jones' and Dixon's previous sound, this recording began as a request from a friend who was putting together an album of lullabies to sell in hospitals to new parents. The album featured six vocal songs and five instrumentals. In fall of 2009, Jones and Dixon toured, performing a series of live acoustic performances.
