Lyle Lovett and His Large Band is Lyle Lovett's third album, released in 1989. Lovett's gender-bending cover of Tammy Wynette's Stand By Your Man was later included in the soundtrack of the 1992 movie The Crying Game. Lyle Lovett and His Large Band reached number 10 on Billboard's chart for Top Country Albums, and 62 in the Billboard Hot 200. At the Grammy Awards of 1990, Lovett won the Grammy Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance for Lyle Lovett and His Large Band. Sample this album Artist - Artist Sample. As usual from Lyle Lovett this is a mixed bag. I have never been quite sure what to expect from his recordings but I am continually drawn to them. His song writing is as erratic as the mixture of material I could have happily passed on the first six tracks but the second six warrant five stars. Even if Stand by your man was hardly an inspired addition to the track listing. Read more. Released 1989. Lyle Lovett and His Large Band Tracklist. Here I Am Lyrics.
