The Symphony No. 8 in F major, Op. 93 is a symphony in four movements composed by Ludwig van Beethoven in 1812. Beethoven fondly referred to it as my little Symphony in F, distinguishing it from his Sixth Symphony, a longer work also in F. The Eighth Symphony is generally light-hearted, though not lightweight, and in many places cheerfully loud, with many accented notes. Various passages in the symphony are heard by some listeners to be musical jokes. As with various other Beethoven works such as. Wilhelm Furtwängler, Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra - Beethoven: The 9 Symphonies 6 Hours 00:00:00 - Symphony No. 8 in F Major, : I. Allegro Vivace Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125, is a choral symphony, the final complete symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven, composed between 1822 and 1824. It was first performed in Vienna on 7 May 1824. The symphony is regarded by many critics and musicologists as Beethoven's greatest work and one of the supreme achievements in the history of music. One of the best-known works in common practice music, it stands as one of the most performed symphonies in the world. Ludwig Van Beethoven Symphony No. 4 in B flat major, 1. Adagio Allegro vivace 0. Wilhelm Furtwängler, conductor The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Recorded June 30, 1943 at Philharmonie, Berlin. Originally issued in the USSR. Mastered in Natural : Wilhelm Furtwangler. Composer: Ludwig van Beethoven. Audio CD October 19, 1999. SPARS Code: DDD. There are 4 cd's containing Beethoven's Symphonies 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9, plus the Coriolan and Leonore 3 Overtures. Considering the history of these recordings, sound quality ranges from excellent to fairly good. For comparison I have the full Beethoven symphony cycle by Karajan and Klemperer, Carlo Kleiber's 5 and 7, Bruno Walter's 6th, and Furtwangler's own 9th with the Bayreuth Festival. My subjective, amateurish opinion is Furtwangler's version of these works are all superior to Karajan and Klemperer. Ludwig van Beethoven - Symphony No. 9 In D Minor, Op. 125 - Molto Vivace. Beethoven is widely regarded as a master of musical construction, sometimes sketching the architecture of a movement before he had decided upon the subject matter. He was one of the first composers to systematically and consistently use interlocking thematic devices, or 'germ-motives', to achieve unity between mo read more
