Album

Lou Reed is the debut solo studio album by American musician Lou Reed, released in April 1972 by RCA Records, two years after he left the Velvet Underground. It was produced by Richard Robinson and Reed and features London session musicians as Reed's backing band, two of whom, Rick Wakeman and Steve Howe, were from the British progressive rock band Yes. Wakeman recalled that during the recording sessions, the lights had to be out so nobody could see. The album was recorded in Morgan Studios, London. I pre-ordered this way back in June and since then i've been reading that Lou himself was involved with the remastering of this project and I find that where some of it sounds amazing other albums in the collection are identical to the Original Album Classics releases. Great package for any true Lou Reed fan. Remastered with help from the man himself. For whatever reason, they left out 75's Lou Reed Live but included the all time classic Metal Machine Music Cool booklet & posters too. Read more
