Album

The Listening is the debut album of North Carolina trio Little Brother. It was released in early 2003 on ABB Records. As the main producer for the group, 9th Wonder's instrumentals consist of chopped and manipulated samples of old soul records, reminiscent of Pete Rock and DJ Premier. Complementing the backdrops are MC's Phonte and Rapper Big Pooh with their tag-team wordplay and raps. On Speed, they rap about the pressures of working a regular job while trying to survive in the rat race, while on. 9th Wonder, Rapper Big Pooh & Phonte are Little Brother. The album became a surprise word-of-mouth free to Little Brother The Listening Morning, Groupie, Part 2 and more. 18 tracks 63:28. The album became a surprise word-of-mouth sensation among underground rap fans, despite its lack of promotion, guest appearances, or extensive distribution. As the main producer for the group, 9th Wonder's instrumentals consist of chopped and manipulated samples of old soul records, somewhat reminiscent of Pete Rock and DJ Premier. Complimenting the backdrops are MC's. As word of The Listening spread amongst the Hip Hop community, Little Brother became quietly heralded as one of a handful of heirs to a lineage of multifaceted, intellectual-but-accessible rap groups like A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, The Fugees or even OutKast. Little Brother received approval from notable hip hop figures, including uestlove, DJ Jazzy Jeff & Pete Rock. The Listening Q&A. Little Brother - The Listening 2003. To favorites 2 Download album. Little Brother WhoLittle Brother - The Listening. by J-23. Little Brother Who In case you havent heard, this is the listening. Phonte, Big Pooh and producer extraordinaire 9th Wonder are not only repping NC, but the classic earlymid 90s hip-hop that so many yearn for today. Really, that is the key listening. After twenty plus spins of this album, it continues to get better and better. In this age of disposable music and over saturated markets, fans often do not really listen to music anymore and if something doesnt grab their attention right away they just hit the skip button. Little Brother should overcome that, because everyone should be listening
