Hobo Linda Ronstadt is the third solo studio album by Linda Ronstadt, released in early 1972 on the Capitol Records label. The album was a sales failure, prompting Linda's exit from Capitol Records. It peaked at 163 on Billboard's Pop Album Chart and 35 on Billboard's Country Album Chart. It is considered to be a front-runner in the country rock music genre. That is a rather harsh assessment of the song, as written on the label; "Awful" and "out"
It is a fairly decent song, kind of the "easy listening" top 40 type of the era, 1969.Written by former Stone Poney band mate and future back up touring band member, Kenny Edwards. "it's About Time" from the same album, has a very similar sound, although it was written by Chip Douglas Hatlelid of Turtles fame. The B side of this record is sort of an odd selection, as there were other , better songs from the album which could have been used , instead. "baby You've Been on My Mind," "The Only Mama That'll Walk The Line," "Break My Mind," or "Silver Threads and Golden Needles" which did become released as a single, when she re rerecorded it for her fourth solo album.

This was the only single released from the album. And "The Long Way Around" was rereleased as the b-side of "She's A Very Lovely Woman," a few years later.
