"environmental architecture" has always remained a track charged with nostalgia for me - as many have already stated below, a clearly underated little gem of those long gone nineties !

I played this every week for a few years while DJing in Madrid back in 95/96. It blended perfectly with B12 or The Black Dog. Underrated gem, although nowadays I can hear it has aged a bit.

You know the way some records that you got have a great story. One lazy Saturday afternoon we went to this market place and I saw this guy who got some CDs in a box on the floor. There I found some early techno, like Harthouse, A Guy Called Gerald, etc. I picked a few CDs and then the seller, a guy approx at my age, asked me: "So, you like techno?" Then he gave me this record as a freebie. So I went home and started listening to the records and this was such a positive surprise that all the ones that I originally picked up seem now rather irrelevant. I dare to compare this to the Black Dog or anything similar. Really great record, nice fusion of techno, IDM and progressive house. It's not a timeless record, in fact this sounds very nineties but for many that is just a positive factor. Another factor which makes this great, is that I really can't name a particular song that would sound out above another because I consider this album as a journey that must listen to from the beginning till the end. Oh man, I love this record. It just has that special "it" factor on it. Nice quality electronica album that went under the radar for many.

Spent some time hunting down this recording, but was left a bit disappointed after hearing it. It has some nice bits (especially the title track), but as a whole it carries too much regular prog house of its day and lacks in the IDM department. Probably nice for those into that kind of sound, but not for me.

I was late finding this gem, probably only about 4-5 years ago now. It amazes me how an album of this quality can remain so under the radar - this is up there with the very best in ambient techno from the early to mid 90s. Relatively rare but not that expensive to pick up a copy second hand in the usual places... highly recommended to fans of B12, The Black Dog, HIA etc. Had this album been on a label such as Warp, it would have been a well known classic by now...

I totally agree. I completely overlooked this 20 years ago, and now that I've finally heard it, I can't believe how on-par it is with other UK techno acts of that era. It's not really what I would expect from Guerilla. Half of it is accessible "ambient techno" or IDM that would've been right at home on Warp's Artificial Intelligence compilations. There are also a couple of trance tracks, a couple of Detroit-styled techno tracks (one is a ringer for Dave Angel's style), and a couple of trancey/breaksy tracks that I'd just file under a progressive. Every track is solid IMHO, no filler at all.

I forgot about this minor masterpiece of ambient idm from 1994 until I came across it in box of old cds I had stashed. Everything good about early 90's electronica is present. There are soaring synths, crunchy techno 4/4 beats, but most of all, almost symphonic Detroit techno tracks that measure up to Carl Craig, Kenny Larkin, Black Dog, As One, Ian O'Brien and Move D. "Everything that's old is new again". 9 out of 10. Brilliant.

One of the best ambient techno records I've ever heard. Great (melodic tracks, somewhere between the early Autechre, the Higher )Intelligence Agency and releases on the great R&S sublabel Apollo. Very rare. Get hold on it if you can !!
