The first time I heard of L7 was on "Beavis & Butt-Head's" music video segment when they reviewed "Pretend We're Dead". Then my interest was re-kindled in them when I heard "Shitlist" on the soundtrack of the Tarantino brainchild "Natural Born Killers".
I love grunge, or maybe I just love what Nirvana did for grunge. Even one of Nirvana's main producer's Butch Vig oversaw "Bricks Are Heavy". It's just, with a Nirvana record the album cuts have me wanting to press play again after the tape is over, not the singles. With "Bricks Are Heavy", the only thing that will keep me pressing playing again are the singles, not the album cuts.And that shows the difference between opening acts and the main event just ask those at The Palace, Hollywood, CA 10/25/91.
