Carnival of Souls: The Final Sessions also known as simply Carnival of Souls is the seventeenth studio album by American rock band Kiss, released in 1997. It is the band's final album with lead guitarist Bruce Kulick, as well as their last album with drummer Eric Singer until 2009's Sonic Boom. The album is a departure from the band's classic hard rock style, in favor of a dark and dense grunge-oriented sound. It is also the band's last album of their unmasking era. Carnival of Souls: The Final Sessions is Kiss' 17th studio album, and last produced before the reunion of the original Kiss members. Recorded and slated for release in 1995early 1996, Kiss cancelled its release when they embarked on the reunion tour. However, fans located and circulated bootleg copies in fairly large numbers. Kiss finally released the album in 1997. The last track, I Walk Alone, was the only lead vocal performance on a Kiss album by guitarist Bruce Kulick. Carnival of Souls, Head 1997. Album by Kiss. Childhood's End. me and my son Stephen as we discuss the album and songs on KISS Carnival of Souls. We will discuss the origins of the album and how it differs from Carnival Of Souls: Final Sessions. Shortly before Kiss embarked on its nostalgic, highly profitable reunion tour of 1996, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley seemed to be planning a more contemporary route to world domination. Their album Carnival of Souls was recorded in 1995, prior to original Kissmen Ace Frehley's and Peter Criss's reentry into the band, and it sounds more like Seattle revisited than Detroit Rock City. The album's lumbering rhythms, and ex-guitarist Bruce Kulick's quavering string bends, are reminiscent of Badmotorfinger-era Soun. Complete sua coleção de - In My Head. Kiss - It Never Goes Away. And it was a grunge album. Thats right. And yet, thats what Carnival Of Souls is. Gone were the breezy, punchy riffs of yore, and in its place were murky, relentlessly heavy, but also drab exercises in feedback. Gone were the party-on lyrics, replaced by insurmountably depressing reflections on life, whose only common trait with the past is the often laughable lyricism cardboard boxes filled with hatein my head . In short, this is one downer of an album. The funny part is, initially it doesnt seem like it will be that different. Kiss - Carnival Of Souls: The Final Sessions 1997
