Electric 02 is some solid bang for your buck, though fans of the King Unique disc may not warm to Nubreeds and vice versa. KU looks at electrohouse and offer a stripped-down interpretation Nubreed opt for throwing pixilated paint all over it. While KUs track selection is often uninspired, the mix does genuinely feel lovingly handcrafted , as the cover pretentiously declares and while Nubreed start off like a trio of monkeys at the decks, when the mix finally melds electrohouse and breaks, it does feel like they know what theyre doing. King Unique is certainly no newcomer to the scene, for five years now the duo have been ripping up the scene with their remixes and own productions. Even so, this is the British pair's official debut mix CD, and in its honor King decide to play havoc with their own reputation for down and dirty house music, going for a more traditional and smoother style instead. NuBreed, who take over the second CD, are younger and thus naturally hungrier. Having established their street cred on-stage and through a clutch of hit remixes and compilation appearances, the Australian trio are chomping at the bit for even greater recognition.
