Turbo is the tenth studio album by English heavy metal band Judas Priest, released on 14 April 1986 by Columbia Records. The album marked the band's first use of guitar synthesizers. A remastered CD was released in 2001, including two bonus tracks. On 3 February 2017, the album was reissued as Turbo 30 for its 30th anniversary, including two CDs of a live performance at the Sandstone Amphitheater near Kansas City, Missouri, on 22 May 1986. The album title was inspired by the Porsche Turbo that KK Downing had bought shortly before the album's composition cycle begun. Roland synth guitars were used on this album. After 1984s Defenders of the Faith and Priests continued popularity, the band initially recorded a double album called Twin Turbos. That album, however, was never released. Instead, the more commercial half of the material was taken and made into Priests 1986 album, Turbo. At the time, glam metal dominated the music scene, and this heavily influenced the sound of the album.
