Lanionge
"Jealous Guy" is the best song here and in my opinion Lennon's best solo output, it's the only time his self conscious whining produces something worth listening to. I can see why "Imagine" is a popular tune but don't think that the song or Lennon is particularly profound, as well as being musically and lyrically obvious, it's all a bit naive. Overall the music is better on this album than on the Plastic Ono Band, but still a little boring and not good enough to warrant a place on any best of list. I think the only reason that his albums are rated at all is because of the sort of hero worship he himself claims to despise.

"Imagine" is one of the best modern pop songs ever written. It's message is one that is needed more than ever before in humankind's history. Whether or not you "like" the music on this album cannot be argued, either you do or don't - as Duke Ellington said, there are only two types of music 1. Good, and 2. Bad. He chose good. It's of course up to you to decide for yourself what falls into these two categories. But the song "Imagine", and by association, the album Imagine, must be listened to by all, especially the young who dismiss this as "old time music". It is not. Its message is eternal. And not to be written of as "boring". This is again, IMO, so it is up to you to choose. But it is definitely worth your time to re-visit it. Thanks. Tom
