Blues Originals Series, Volume 5.
As indicated, Hooker was originally credited as John Lee Booker on tracks A1, A2, B2, B4, B5, B7.
Track B8 was previously unissued.
Despite its twisted historical background, this is fine, first-rate Hooker. A few tracks feature the support of guitaristvocalist Eddie Kirkland, a few others, an unnamed bassist, but this is pretty much pure John Lee Hooker - just him and a guitar, running through a set of spare, haunting blues that include such tracks as Blue Monday and Stuttering Blues. There are none of his best-known tracks on the album, but it's one of his most consistent original records. Track Listing. Detroit Tube Works - John Lee Hooker. I have spent a lot of money on John Lee Hooker albums and this album is in the top three, easily. I like this one so much because the stripped down dirty sound that Hooker has. This album is no where near as polished as It Serves You Right To Suffer a great album in its own right. Les blues de John Lee Hooker ne respectent pas les 12 mesures. Ils se déroulent souvent sur un seul accord. John Lee Hooker ne chante pas pour les autres. John Lee Hooker John Lee Hooker's Detroit. Vintage Recordings 1948-1952. Genere: Blues.
