John Huling's Desert Plateaus Native American Music from the Desert Southwest that reflects the serene and mysterious nature of our Southwest Deserts. Desert Plateaus was recorded in 1990 using the natural sounds of birds and other animals from the Desert Southwest. Included are the sound of Thunder and Rain which set the tone for these beautiful melodic Native flute songs. Many of the nature sounds heard on this album were recorded live as they actually happened while the music was being recorded. Several of the inspired Solo Native American flute songs were recorded amongst the Anasazi ruins themselves. Countless desert birds and other animals, as well as thunder and rain, set the tone for these beautiful melodic songs. Ancient pan flutes, Indian drums, Native American flutes and synthesizers create a tapestry of sound reflecting the serene, yet sometimes mysterious, nature of the desert. This music was the culmination of more than 9 months of living in and around the Four Corners region-where the states of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona come together.
