Joe Seven - Near, Far. Joe Seven, AKA Joseph Smaje, is one of the lesser-known artists in the Exit roster, having only released two left-leaning 12-inches for dBridge's label back in 2011. Though he also collaborated with Consequence on a full-length as They Live that same year. The Australian re-emerged a few weeks ago with the announcement of the Binary Collective-a four-way collaboration between him, dBridge, Consequence and Kid Drama-and now he's moving onto his debut album. Joe Seven delivers his debut solo album for Exit Records and its a multi layered, multi genre affair yet all the while keeping that individual, solitary and tense disposition weve come to expect from his work. Initially the album was released as an art project alongside hand-made prints by Daisy Cooper, a tape cassette and hand printed T Shirts made in London however now the album now finds itself on general release after work quickly spread about the quality of the music itself. So Near, So Far Musings for Miles is a 1993 album by jazz saxophonist Joe Henderson and is the second of five albums he recorded with Verve Records near the end of his career. The album is a tribute to trumpeter Miles Davis, who Henderson greatly admired and with whom he performed for only a few weekends in 1967. The songs were written by or associated with Davis, and the musicians on the album played with him earlier in their careers. All compositions by Miles Davis except where noted.
