Heal My Soul is an extraordinary lost Jeff Healey album. The first album of unreleased songs in 16 years, released to coincide with what would have been Jeffs 50th birthday March 25, 2016, kicking off a year-long celebration. This album is composed of 12 songs that were all recorded during a unique and unusual time in Jeffs career a 3 year period of intense creativity that resulted in many more tunes recorded than could be used on the single album that was released during that time. These recordings were left incomplete at the time of Healey's death, so it was up to his estate to complete the tapes, and the efforts are relatively seamless: it all sounds like it dates from somewhere in the early 2000s, a period arriving after his hits but before he started exploring hot jazz. Its a curious thing, but Jeff Healey has arguably never sounded more alive than on Heal My Soul. Released on March 25, 2016, through Provogue, this lost album gathers 12 unreleased tracks, recorded by the guitarist as his world-conquering original band crumbled in the late 90s. On paper, it might smack of another odds-and-sods posthumous trolley dash through the vaults. Jeff Healey born Norman Jeffrey Healey on March 25, 1966 in Toronto, Canada died March 2, 2008 was a blind Canadian blues-rock guitarist. Healey was perhaps most notable for his innovative playing style, with his guitar lying flat on his lap. Despite losing his sight to cancer of the eyes at one years old, he began to play guitar when he was just three, and developed his own unique playing style and technique.
