The reissue quality is stunning and superb; this is not a 180 gr vinyl, since i'm not in love with them (it's just a promotional claim), for me was a good start. pressed at MPO en france it's a very analogue sounding and silent reissue. the record is total flat, and surface noise is ZERO even in silent parts. my only complaint is about side B which suffers from a bit off-center problem, but slight since i didn't notice any speed flutter variation, just a little IGD in the inner part of the closing session. recommended for people not involved in used records. this is a great choice!

Unbelievable they reissued this one... 2nd hand this one is thrown at your head for about €1 in good (NM/VG+) conditions... Seems this belongs to the most often discarded records. The sound is very perfected, but JM Jarre doesn't know how to create depth. It all sounds a bit snobbish, technologic, dry, technical and to compensate that it just was made too mellow. He masters all his instruments but he doesn't master the human mind, and that's where music becomes a piece of art instead of sound-wallpaper.
This album sounds very good at first, but quickly loses it's glance when listened more often... except if depth is none of your concerns and you just want to be easy-going.

After hearing "Oxygene" on CD for the first time, I never thought that JMJ could out do his first (commercial succesfull) album, but after putting the vinyl on the recordplayer, he proved me wrong...

Taking a somewhat wider, but similiar soundscape: Equinoxe is an example of how synthesisers can be put to use. Many different sound's are all over the place, and the overall feeling of the album is relaxed but energetic. With Part 4 and 5 being some of Jarre's best work yet. It's an album that makes you feel good at the end.

5 out of 5!
