Malaris

It's been well over a decade this wonderful energy bomb gem of a trance treat was released. There are quite many details and dimentions to love about "Out Of The Box". Its creative twists and turns, distinctive sound, essential catchiness on so many levels. The Simon Patterson-esque male vocal chop early in the song makes this it extra cool and especially the combo og the vocal chop with some synths and side melodies all together vanish together (on behalf of the main point) gives me goosebumps.
In my personal opinion the main melody has got its own magic over it. Despite it having what I'll call it "the pluck melody syndrome", just like Adam Nickey - Slider, Alan M - Famicom (Temple 1 Remix), 7 Skies - Caffeine etc etc) I just feel like this pluck melody used in Out Of The Box is so vastly great genious declared that I want to say this melody is sacred from all the other trancers with the similar note pattern. It simply should lot be compared to those others. Out Of The Box is original in its own right.

This song seems boring and uninspiring when you're not in the right mood and commitment, but when you are, this song simply metaphorically blows up the place and the sorroundings.
The main melody used in the song's drop is also works perfectly in its amount of times; the long melody is used two times before being played two times more in the next break, in a way you don't want to say "I want more". It's accurately enough.

Years have passed, and I still love this masterpiece. Easily one of my favorite trancers ever and also my favorite trance track of 2009.

Ausstan

Good gravy, this is one of the most massive releases in a long while. Let me jump ahead and heap endless bouts of praise on Out Of The Box, one very fine and innovative piece of uplifting tech-trance and something that incited much excitement in me with just the first listen. This tune was dropped several times in the first half of 2009, including in the much-lauded guest mix played by Sied Van Riel during A State of Trance 400. Amid several other respectable tech-trance songs out at the moment, it's my hope that this one will gain the exposure it so deserves.

Out of the Box goes right for the kill early on, as a sizzling bassline and catchy beat thumps through. Overall, there are so many schizophrenic groove elements and side melodies going on, that your head is spinning trying to capture all of the nuances. Yet, holistically speaking, it all comes together and simply works. Such explains much of the origin of the excitement that is generated by this track. To me, the melody, while very interesting and producing several emotions, is not necessarily the centerpiece. For some reason, it just seems somewhat overshadowed by tech-trance's tendency to jump from one break to the next, though adds a strong liaison for each of the song's several breakdowns. There's not much more to be said without being completely redundant. A must have.

The Beginning is another grand adventure in itself. Like Out of the Box, there are numerous groove elements taking place throughout. Although, this song moves ahead with a more no-nonsense uplifting, euphoric objective. Contrasting with Out of the Box, the melody seems a bit darker, but more consistent throughout. Another exciting track to go with this release.
