Hild's first solo release comes in the form of one long onslaught, mostly on her instrument of choice, the french horn. The release was one of the first on Lasse Marhaug's Pica Disk. I picked it up from Sound 323 (RIP) back when it was released as I loved Fe-mail, her duo with Maja Ratkje, in particular their double album 'Blixter Toad'.

The piece starts out with what sounds like a live improvisation with feedback and a long actively recording tape loop. The loop makes the sounds easy to follow but no easier to decipher. Before you know it the sense of the beginning or end of the loop as well as the sounds movement from right to left disappears into a mush of noise... this noise doesn't abate much once it gets really going but it always burns brightly and doesn't get tiresome like a lot of noise does to my ears. A curious debut that I love coming back to now and again.
