It was released in Europe on 19 June 2006 by Regain Records and in the US on 25 July 2006 by Candlelight Records. This was the only Gorgoroth album on which all of the lyrics and music were written by Gaahl and King ov Hell, and was the last to feature both members. It also marked the return of drummer Frost and was the last Gorgoroth album that he appeared on. It was nominated for Norway's 2006 Spellemann. More information on the release is available via Regain Records' website. The title is Latin for For the Greater Glory of Satan. It is a parody of Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam For the Greater Glory of God, the motto of the Society. Gorgoroth's seventh full length studio album, Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam, marks their turn towards the death metal genre. That is not to say however, that the days of having the Gorgoroth we all know and love you know, the guys that slaughtered a live sheep onstage in Poland are gone, they've just evolved into something more than your everyday, low production black metal band. Speaking of the production, it's suprisingly good on the album, for the most part. All of the instruments sound as though they were actually mixed and mastered. On several of Gorgoroth's past rele. Gorgoroth - Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam 2006. Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam was released in the United States during the summer of 2006, Norway's infamous Gorgoroth was experiencing considerable turmoil. Lead singer Gaahl was serving time in a Norwegian prison for severely beating a man in 2002 and threatening to drink his blood founderguitarist Infernus was looking at possible incarceration for, Norwegian prosecutors alleged, doing nothing to stop a rape that a friend allegedly committed in his presence and longtime bassist King Ov Hell had left the band. Of course, lineup changes are nothing new for the Occult-loving Gorgorot. Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam. Released June 19, 2006. Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam Tracklist. Wound Upon Wound Lyrics

Jugore
this shouldn't even been listed under gorgoroth releases, no infernus on this record just two idiots who tried to take over something that wasn't theirs, worst *gorgoroth* record to date

Useless comment. Infernus plays on this record and this album is one of the best Gorgoroth's record.

In the credits you can see Infernus was listed as the guitar player on this album.

what are you talking about? Infernus is in the line up! Frost on drums. Excellent album and last with Ghaal on vocal.
