For Harry's Bar is geezer-rock of the most dreary kind, with titles such as Feelin' Loose and Roll with It not the Oasis song accurately conveying the bland, desultory nature of the music, which features Haskell's smoky baritone applied to a bunch of love songs in the vein of How Wonderful You Are, though less memorable. Gordon Haskell delivers a phenomenally smooth performance with a group of Polish musicians who the ex-King Crimson vocalist says he wishes he met a long time ago. The Eden Ahbez tune Nature Boy sounds like the music of a male counterpart to Sade, eloquent and soothing, as is this entire concert. Gordon Haskell born 27 April 1946, in Bournemouth, Hampshire, England was the bassist and vocalist in the transitional King Crimson line-up of 1970. He appeared on the album Lizard, but quit the group during rehearsals for live work. School friends with Robert Fripp, they previously worked together in an earlier version of League of Gentlemen. Haskell's more folk oriented interests were in conflict with Crimson's sound, so he elected to leave. Gordon Haskell is an English musician and songwriter. A pop, rock and blues vocalist, guitarist, and bassist, he was a school friend of King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp, the two first working together in Fripp's mid-1960s teenage group the League of Gentlemen.
