He began working professionally around 1967, when he was only in his teens, performing with acts like Seguin, Someone, Jacques Michel, and the duet of Liette and Francois. Valiquette was born in Montreal, Canada, in 1952. His debut solo album, Chansons Pour un Café, was released in 1972. Other albums followed throughout the '70s, including Second Stop, Evenings of Autumn, Valiquette East Downtown, and Night Flight. There were only about four more solo recordings during the '80s and '90s, but Valiquette's music stayed popular with fans
