Originally hailing from the coastal town of Noosa, Australia, Kendrick and Banjanin met in their teens and then moved to Europe, spending their time between London, Berlin, and read more. Geowulf are an Australian dream pop duo formed in Sunshine Coast, Queensland in 2016. Their debut studio album, Great Big Blue, was released in 2018, and their second album, My Resignation, was released on October 25, 2019. In 2017, Geowulf released their debut EP, Relapse, containing four songs including Saltwater, their first single. Saltwater was originally released as a single in 2016, and was a part of the 37 Adventures compilation album Odd Numbers Volume 1. The Great Big Blue alluded to in the LP's title was a real ocean during its making. I would fly over I was living in Sweden, and then Berlin for a while I would fly over for a weekend and try and do four or five tracks, recalls Kendrick. Then meanwhile, on my own back in Berlin or Sweden, I would try lots of ideas. For Kendrick, writing and making music is a relatively new experience. Recording the album, sessions were a pretty far cry from the Brisbane coastline of Geowulfs childhood, taking place at a studio in East London. It was pretty crazy.
