Tom Morgan of Australian band Smudge helped author the album while The Robb Brothers produced it. At the time of principal recording, the band consisted of Evan Dando lead vocals, guitar, Juliana Hatfield bass, backing vocals and David Ryan drums. Get the Sheet Music License This Song . It wasn't quite the same, but it had a suggestion of it. I played it on the piano like that, and I thought, this is really good. Directed by Jim Yukich, the video shows the three members of Genesis, apparently homeless, dressed in dirty clothes and warming themselves using fires in metal barrels as they perform the song in an abandoned building. The connection between the video and the song if there is one is open to interpretation. That slightly down-and-out feel seemed to go a little bit with the lyric, but it's not a perfect match, Tony Bank offered. It's a shame that the 1997 album, with new vocalist Ray Wilson, didn't succeed. I do think it's an extremely weak album, and I don't think Wilson's voice is distinctive enough to make much of an impression. Too mainstream. It goes to show that lightning doesn't strike twice - they had a successful replacement of Peter Gabriel in Phil Collins, but you'd have to be something pretty damn special to successfully replace Phil Collins. Ultimately it came to more than two full decades of superb, progressive rock and poprock, and Genesis was undoubtedly one of the world's greatest, most creative and most successful rock bands.
