Mixed at Little Mod, Los Angeles. Mastered at Oasis Mastering, Los Angeles. Recorded on and off by between fall 2006 and fall 2008 at the Audio Kitchen, Berkeley, except strings/horns recorded at The Studio That Time Forgot, San Francisco, on August 26th 2007. 'Helicopter' vocals recorded in a Berkeley schoolyard on June 4th 2007. All sounds made with keyboards and samplers, except for the horns and strings. The parts that sound like distorted guitars were played on a Hohner Clavinet C.

A French national and keen vintage keyboard player check the RV Music section for records hes played on at , he initiated GE just before moving to San Francisco. Using a computer, his oldschool keys and a SM-57 mike, he started sewing together loops, Funky keyboard licks, ethereal melodies and digital tweaking. General Elektriks' second album is built on sturdier grooves that are more keyboard-driven than those of their debut. The vocals, meanwhile, are more upfront and amiable, though Raid the Radio launches a pointed - if seemingly easygoing - protest at commercial programming. General Elektriks released the full-length To Be a Stranger and a live album, Punk Funk City, in 2016, and the full-length Carry No Ghosts in 2018. Hmm, after the cheeky hip-hop of CLIQUETY KLIK, General Elektriks returns with GOOD CITY FOR DREAMERS, which, right from "Take Back The Instant" tells you that you're in completely different territory. Sure, the fun drum programming is still there, but now it's used to back some pop-rock, as if General Elektriks had been hanging out with Phoenix ("Gathering All the Lost Loves" sounds like they've been hanging out with Air). But "Raid the Radio" and "Helicopter" still have plenty of energy, while "Cottons of Inertia" brings things down to blues-level slow (even if it explodes right at the end). They can also keep things spry, as with "Little Lady," the funky "David Lynch Moments," or the out-and-out oddity of "La Nuit Des Ephémères." But other times, the tracks are a bit thin: "You Don't Listen" has a guitar solo that goes on for much too long. Luckily, the chanson-jazz of "Rebel Sun" proves a strong cap towards a good city.
