Alpha Pup Records от лица компании Westbound. Формируйте собственную коллекцию записей Brain is the third studio album by the American funk band Funkadelic, released by Westbound Records in July 1971. It was produced by band leader George Clinton and recorded at United Sound Systems in Detroit during late 1970 and early 1971. It was the final album recorded by the original Funkadelic lineup after its release, original members Tawl Ross, Billy Nelson, and Tiki Fulwood left the band for various reasons. though the Mothership was well on its way already, Maggot Brain really helped it take off. The instrumental title track is the key reason to listen, specifically for Eddie Hazel's lengthy, mind-melting solo. George Clinton famously told Hazel to play like your momma had just died, and the resulting evocation of melancholy and sorrow doesn't merely rival Jimi Hendrix's work, but arguably bests a lot of it. As the album's tentpole-containing, courtesy Eddie Hazel, an impossibly epic guitar solo-it casts a long shadow, quickly illuminated by Can You Get to That, a gospel-funk masterpiece that travels to heaven and back in less than three minutes. Hit It and Quit It confirms Hazel's rock-riff cred, and Wars of Armageddon is a gleeful bad trip through the end of the world, complete with hooting owls, crying babies, and wailing klaxons. Maggot Brain Funkadelic. Maggot Brain was an explosive record, bursting at the seams with exactly the kind of larger than life sound a band called Funkadelic should have made. Too bad most of the band left afterwards. From here on out, Funkadelic would devote increasingly more time to maintaining and expanding their appeal. Albums like Let's Take It to the Stage and Standing on the Verge of Getting It on also reissued, along with Tales of Kidd Funkadelic were considerably less freaked-out than the early stuff, but alongside Parliament's concurrent music, helped turn Clinton's empire into one of the biggest acts in music. Maggot Brain is a song by the band Funkadelic. It appears as the lead track on their 1971 album of the same name. The original recording of the song, over ten minutes long, features little more than a spoken introduction and a much-praised extended guitar solo by Eddie Hazel. Radio disc jockey read more. Maggot Brain is rated by, amongst others, Mojo Magazine as an all-time classic. Their critics voted it the fourth greatest guitar album ever, beaten only by Jimi Hendrix and the Who. Guitarist Eddie Hazel's playing on the title track is nothing short of stunning.
