Fleet Foxes is the eponymous debut studio album by American rock band Fleet Foxes, released on June 3, 2008 by Bella Union. The album debuted at number eleven on the UK Albums Chart, where it eventually peaked at number three, and garnered wide praise from critics, many of whom named it one of the best albums of 2008. Producer and Pecknold family friend Phil Ek had earlier helped Fleet Foxes record their first demo and used his influence to assist in shopping it to record labels. Ek described the demo. It is time for Foxes to call it a day. While it isn't an easy move to make, we decided a little while ago due to the hard task of reforming after the album and also because our own personal lives that we could not continue. As we grow, we also have to let go of things. Since 2011 we've put a lot of ourselves into this band so we could create something for those who cared to listen. Foxes debut album Organic Vessels blends elements of post-punk, shoegaze, pyschedelia, and post-hardcore to create an engaging listening experience tacked full of emotion. The Australian 5 piece weave these eclectic influences together to create a cohesive whole, not usually found in many first releases.
