So Much for the Afterglow is the third studio album by American alternative rock band Everclear, released on October 7, 1997. It contained the singles Everything to Everyone, I Will Buy You a New Life, Father of Mine, So Much for the Afterglow, and One Hit Wonder. Everything to Everyone, I Will Buy You A New Life and Father of Mine, received heavy rotation on MTV's Total Request Live and launched Everclear into mainstream popularity in the late-90s. Like many grunge and post-grunge rockers, however, Everclear's leader, Art Alexakis, felt constrained by his modest success and its implications, deciding to take his band in new experimental directions for their follow-up album, So Much for the Afterglow. As the title suggests - as well as song titles like One Hit Wonder, White Men in Black Suits, and Everything to Everyone - Alexakis is feeling a bit ambivalent about his success, believing that it's only a transient thing. But what about Everclears So Much For The Afterglow This is a true 90s classic that has been slightly overlooked. It sold well, a lot better than anything the band has ever done, and had a good amount of airplay from its singles. Everclear: Art Alexakis: vocals, guitar Craig Montoya: bass, vocals Greg Eklund: drums, vocals. So what else makes the album good There are so many other great tunes that could have easily made it on the radio if a single had been made. Normal Like You is a perfectly written song about a friend with depression. Amphetamine is a great punker about a girl similar to the characters in Sparkle And Fade. Album 1997 14 Songs. Rock 1997. I am a big fan of Everclear and So Much for the Afterglow is one of their best albums. This reissued pressing came in perfect condition and on time. Every song on this album is a hit. This is the best everclear album. Not only does it contain those commercial songs heard all over the nation, but there are also contemperary songs like Why I don't believe in God, Amphetamine, White Men in Black Suits, et al. I thought the lyrics were as poignant than any other album I have known. This band is definitely not Nirvana carbon copy. You'll love everything on this album although I was not too thrilled with the instrumental piece. Everclear : So Much for the Afterglow,альбом, рецезия, трек-лист, mp3, тексты песен. Everclears third studio album remains their best-selling album to date, likely because it launched the band into mainstream air and video play, attracting many new fans. The band toned down their heavy sound slightly, but so many of the lyrics could be interpreted in ways that made a number of people relate to them, making them willing to shout along with songs that may have been slightly louder and crunchier than what they normally listened to. So Much for the Afterglow delivered a number of popular, relatable singles: Everything to Everyone , I Will Buy You a New Life , Father of Mine ,
