It features the voices of Ming-Na Wen, Alec Baldwin, Donald Sutherland, James Woods, Ving Rhames, Peri Gilpin and Steve Buscemi. Elliot Goldenthal outdid himself with the epic score for this box-office bomb. A soaring, triumphant work brilliantly brought to life by the London Symphony Orchestra, Goldenthal's score surely would have received Oscar consideration if the film itself had performed better. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within is the complete soundtrack for the major motion picture, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. It was performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. The song Spirit Dreams Inside was written by Hyde and performed by L'Arc-en-Ciel, while the song The Dream Within was written by Elliot Goldenthal and preformed by Lara Fabian. Being the big fan that I am of Elliot Goldenthal, I'll pretty much love everything he does. However, that doesn't mean that I'd recommend all of his work to everyone. With this score, we find Goldenthal working some familiar territory. At times, the score feels lifted from 'TITUS'which is excellent by the way, and his work with melody and brass so much his signature is very much a part of the work here. That isn't meant as a slander to a work, mearly an observation.
