She has a beautiful voice, a nice sense of style and can handle a variety of material from slow ballads to fast jazzy numbers. Tom Jobim is a songwriting genius and a fine guitar and piano player. The combination of the two makes for a great record. I might have preferred sparser, less pop-oriented arrangements, but the combination of Elis and Tom transcends the background for their performances.
