Eddie Palmieri born December 15, 1936 is a Grammy Award-winning pianist, bandleader, musician, and composer of Puerto Rican ancestry. He is the founder of the bands La Perfecta, La Perfecta II, and Harlem River Drive. On the liner notes of their first album, Eddie's brother Charlie dubbed this combination the 'trombanga', referring to the trombones and the still popular charanga which typically featured the flute. The combination helped to give La Perfecta a rich and bold sound which contributed to Palmieri's success with his new band. Vortex 1996. El rumbero del piano RMM, 1998. Live 1999. Eddie Palmieri: все альбомы, включая All the Best Tracks , Guitar Town Music , The Hottest Ever и другие. El Rumbero Del Piano. Released: Aug 1998. Label: Verve Records. This 1998 release showcases Palmieri's highly influential piano playing as well as his continuing dominance in all things Salsa. A player who's been through diluted smooth jazz as well as Monk-style explorations, Palmieri's playing is lively, danceable and inventive. Afro-Cuban influences abound, and most - if not all - of the Big Band numbers are eminently danceable
