CD1 comes in different shades of red/pink while CD2 comes in different shades of yellow/green.

On the original release of the album the track "Let's Turn On" had it's outro faded while "Star Above Parvati (Bijli Mahadev Mix)" had a shorter intro, both tracks released complete for the first time here.

It's great to read Nick's behind-the-scenes stories in the booklet. The source of male voice sample in "Secret Sun" comes from 1953 drama movie "Glen or Glenda".

Loved the music, not so much the mild headache and ear ringing that followed.I have to agree with much that has been said below, this is overly loud and not a pleasant experience on headphones. The CDs do look very nice however, and a lot of work has obviously been put into this release, rating it one star doesn't seem fair.

Big disappointment -- Here's a fancy Deluxe Edition release which features some great previously unreleased material. Unfortunately it all completely screwed by poor and unprofessional mastering! This is the first thing I could think of, right on the very first few seconds of listening: terrible over-over-over-loudness and distortion. I ripped it into an pro audio software and it is also very visible - no dynamics on the signal and squared peaks. Draek, you put many efforts and resources in releasing this music, so please for finalizing and mastering please take someone who knows what he/she is doing, for a change! Otherwise you'll simply continue to ruin good releases. I do hope to see the stuff of CD-1 here being re-issued properly one day.

Most guys below me are laughable at best. this release is called Remixed & REMASTERED for a reason. If the mastering wouldn't have sounded different, there would be no point in remastering. This is one of my alltime favorite albums and I LOVE this release, I think it sounds absolutely top notch! once more IMHO, DAT Records prove themselves as one of the most important things to happen to goatrance music ever since the new millenia.

Nobody complain about Remastered re-issued, but the result of a non-professional work of over-loudness and distortion. If you're OK with getting a poor product for your money, that's your problem and if you don't even notice the bad sound, then I wonder what sort of stuff you take / smoke....?

Seriously I getting Earache of listening to this re-master! I will join in the mastering train for sure. The music material is still 5/5 but's ruined. It's so high, flat and noisy you barely can't stand it.. It's sad when it comes to a re-release but at least artwork and details are top notch with a fat booklet which is seldom in trance CDs. The awful high mastering are even easier noticed if playing old doof songs on vinyl and this new cd ripped to high-end gear like meridian media player fitted together with a high-end amplifier.DAT Records have to listen to this critic and change direction in the future...

Thanks to Draeke 4 his work, but i have to agree about remastering, if in VA - Analog Dreams was decent, in Let's Turn On - Remixed & Remastered (?!) is weak, and don't say please that you have to turn up and turn up the volume to enjoy the music, how much i have to pump up the volume please?this is not the case. Maybe someone said that this release sounds well in a sound system at the parties, yes it is! but because sounds system have compressors working!years ago the Mastering was too loud, these days it seems sooo pooor.........and it's a pity............

Maybe if you're anal retentive and listen to your music on a $40,000 sound system you might possibly notice this loudness war thingy that some random below is harping on about. For me it comes to one thing in music that is made to make you dance. Does it sound good & make me dance or doesn't it? Well I can say this album definitely makes me wanna dance. I might not be an audio engineer, but I know what makes good Goa & Psy trance after listening to this style for two decades, and this is the goods.Great music, sounds great on an average human's stereo, headphones or car system. Oh wait last weekend I payed it through my mates P.A. System and it also sounded great. Can't wait for the next from DAT. About the only label left in this scene worth spending cash on.Keep it up!!

I absolutely ADORE this re-release! What we get here is not only the original Let's Turn On album but also a remix album from the artist himself. This cannot go wrong! Right? The remix part differs quite a bit from the original. I would say we should not compare them straight forward but in fact listen to them with another mindset. The original is melodic, fast-paced and outrageous on the dancefloor. On the other hand, the remixes are mostly hypnotic, trancey and with barely any breakdown. The melodies from the originals are subtle, they come as quickly as they go while the acidic trippy beat continues to expand your universe. Not many Goa albums around can achieve this level of trance using this formula. For me personally, the first CD is better put in an indoor environment. I love listening to it while relaxing on my sofa. I do not believe it is suitable for the madness of the Goa parties (except of course in downtime). To experience the most of it, you have to submerge yourself solely into its sounds. It's mesmerising and quite beautiful! The second CD does not need introduction. All the tracks are simply stunning. I also do not understand why is there such a complain regarding the mastering. It is excellent and you can clearly hear all the details of the tracks. The dynamics are far from ruined either. But I guess some people want to find flaws in every piece of art. Just enjoy the music which comes in a great package for just 13 EUR, instead of spending 30 on the older release, which will probably come in scratched. Speaking about the package, you get not only the two magnificent CDs (which are coloured below as well, very neat idea!), but also great artwork and a gorgeous poster, folded gently inside. There is no reason not to obtain this marvel coming from one of the best labels currently, and please don't let yourself be fooled by this malicious review from the person on the bottom. Some people just like to shoot down the work of labels such as DAT or Suntrip, just so that their collection of old-school Goa classics cost more on the market. If you are a music lover like me, ignore them and support this fantastic result of hard-work.

Fonceiah
I would love to hear them live too! Probably there won't be any rest for my legs! ;)Cheers to you too and keep up the hard work! Full support! :)

greed style
Thanks so much, I am so happy to see my work was so well received there :)And I agree very much with you, the remixes are powerful and very hypnotic, trance inducing in a different way. However I have to tell you I have tried some of these versions on the dancefloor and people danced like crazy too... ;) Cheers!!

Mightdragon
the remastering is very good analog dimension is doing a very good thing by refreshing the old school vibes with no overkill!thanks for this piece of art Fede

Unfortunately, the remastering of this release is poor. The tracks got much louder at the expense of dynamics. The music generally sounds louder and brighter. This release may cause listening fatigue. It's obvious that many friends of the label owner want to drown out my criticism of the remastering by claiming that I'm wrong, so here are waveforms of "Star Above Parvati" to provide evidence for my criticism:Original: http://i.imgur.com/r2r6cei.pngRemaster: http://i.imgur.com/gsXrz2C.pngBackground information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudness_warIt is still worth purchasing this for the remix CD. Although most of the remixes are inferior to the originally-released mixes, they are still relatively strong tracks that put a lot of newer music in the genre to shame.

Otiel
Articuno actually have right here and he comes up with a good and fair criticism here. He also show examples. This is fact! not bashing.

Humin
In this case I have to agree a little bit with articuno. In my opinion its a thing of newer music production that they make a Crisp Compression to go to the top which in bad release leads to clipping in the remastering which to my ears sounds not that good too (This often happens in Genres like Hardstyle/Hardcore-Gabber music and Hardtrance but people mostly are too stoned to feel that). On some Tracks the Image Widening and Compression works well but on some classics the focus is on quit parts in the background and is then too much overlayered by the Increased Volume of the Mid Frequencies. I think a more pumpin compression works better sometimes in my opinion the sound should be less strong a bit focus on high and mid frequencies and a shifting Kick thats pumpin over the acid lines to support that goa trance feeling I like.Which he actually did on some tracks. But thats only my opinion and the guy who remasters has a lot more experience but maybe he thinks about it. Also for a guy who remasters notching is sometimes a lot better than boosting but I guess he already knew that. But overall this gets 4/5 and saying its poor is totally wrong I ve heard far worse Remasters and this one is upper class.

Iesha
The idea behind the remastering was to have a better sounding version of the original album, and we did. If you don't like the remastering, that is your personal taste. But I will not stand here listening on how badly we worked or on how you think this is too loud. It seems you focus only on the original album, and not on the new tracks, you found them to be sounding bad too? I would really like to see you behind the release of a classic and see how you go about it. That said at DAT Records and Doof himself found the mastering to be adequate and really great, so I guess you can't please everyone but to say that the mastering is poor, is going beyond being reasonable. Say that you personally don't like it, that's more correct.

Doulkree
> the mastering is louder (or should we say crispier?) but by no means you lose the dynamics of the sound. It does. The original CD had a peak level of 99.x%, so there was no free headroom to increase the volume without compressing the dynamic range.TT Dynamic Range Meter gives 10 for the original TIP Records release and 6 for this remastered release (scale of 1-20, higher is better -- larger peak to RMS ratio). So the dynamic range (by this quantitative measure) is definitely reduced by the remastering. The personal question here is whether the music sounds better with less dynamic range (ie. more sounds at similar volume levels; less foreground vs. background and quieter parts of the music), or whether it was better with more dynamic range as per the original release. The question that should be put to whoever remastered this and to the label is: was the dynamic range compressed to increase loudness (which is generally considered a bad thing; look up "the loudness war"), or was it reduced because they thought the music sounded better louder and with less variation in volume between the sounds? In the latter case, we will either subjectively agree or disagree with them. (But I don't think we'll get a straight answer from them, and it's not that important either way.)

Malaunitly
I must admit I don't have a "musical" ear and I am no expert by any means. But saying the mastering is poor IMO goes too far. Yes, the mastering is louder (or should we say crispier?) but by no means you lose the dynamics of the sound. This of course is a personal opinion. However, no matter your taste on mastering, this is an excellent release. And this is not my opinion, it is a fact :P
