Bem Bom. Pedro Brito. Bem bom Very good was the Portuguese entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1982, performed in Portuguese by Doce. The song is an up-tempo number inspired by Portuguese folk music, describing the beginning of a relationship from the perspective of a woman. They sing about how they feel at 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am, 5am, 6am, 7am and 8am as the relationship develops from the initial flirting a touch, a sparkle in your glance through to Breakfast for two at the start of the new day. The band was formed in 1979, made of the singers Fátima Padinha, Teresa Miguel these two were part of Gemini before, Helena Coelho and Laura Diogo. In January 1980 the single Amanhã de Manhã the entry for OSC26 and their most famous song in Portugal is released. In the same year they entered Festival da Canção with the song Doce, ending in 2nd place. In March 1980 their first album, OK KO was released. The song has been labeled as a well-known reggae anthem by BBC and a classic by The Observer.
